327th Mini-CON
STICK's A.A.R.

I had an eta of 10am on Saturday for the Mini-CON, but due to some extra-curricular activities the previous night, I was unable to make an arrival until 1pm ... DOH!  Otw there I ran into some serious thunderstorms that I thought for sure would wash away any plans we had of being online, not to mention the air show for Saturday afternoon.  Good news was that they passed right over and we had a perfect day and night.

Lunch and Applebee's.  No BOOT, the answer is not 7 :-)

AirZoo for the Airshow.  Kewl to see the B17 and P51's up close and flying.  They even flew over the War Room during their routes.  Very Kewl!  The AirZoo even had a flight simulator that rotated 360 degrees on both axis, but they had sold out of ticket for that day :-(

Back to the War Room for some flight time!  Everyone got hooked up.  We had some minor problems but Jim (=SC=) was right on top of it and we were all up and running without incedent.  It had been awhile since I had flown, I couldn't even remember some of the kb commands.  After a few flights, I was right back in the saddle again, and stomped the p*ss out of some Bz and Cz :-)

327th Madness Mission #1.  P51's for a trip through Cz Land and then to pork Bz Sat.  The Cz were less than exciting and we only drew a few of them up to follow us.  But the Bz were up to the task and even had some fighters up at our alt (20k+) to greet us.  Good fun!

327th Madness Mission #2.  Okay, so the Bz think they're smart huh?  Gonna climb up and meet us over our target?  Well we'll just sneak in under dar with some stukas!  Just one sector out from out launch base and we've got a niki and FW searching for us.  We, btw, are the 14 markers in that sector :-)  Search as they may, climb as far as they can, and they cannot find us.  If only they would have looked down .. oh they would have seen us. :-)  We got all the way to the target before they started to inin us.  We didn't last long, but I did  manage to make it to the base, kill the ack and start some good old fashioned vulching in my stuka :-)

327th Madness Mission #3.  3 B17's.  9+ gunners.  B:Sat be damned!  Hehe.  I had BAT, =SC=, and Newman for gunners.  We dropped all of our eggs, took out at least 7 fighters, and landed safely back at Kes.  Oh yeah, what a flight!

In a nutshell, I had a great time.  Especially watching KOOL with his 40 of Mike's Hard Lemonade, bwahahahahaha!  Metting Greg (BOOT) for the first time ... its always a treat when I meet more and more 327th.  He was exactly what I expected ... a good man to hang out with.

Thank you and Salute to Jim and Beth for opening up their home and business for us geeks.  It was my extreme pleasure to meet your family and share in your lives.  BTW, I ate 5 eggs during breakfast :-)  Mmmm Gewd!  I hope to do this again next year!

Salute!
